I am passionate about good communication. In fact, I have always enjoyed writing and expressing ideas, from my early days as a debater into university and beyond.
A former lawyer, I moved to communications roles within the education and government sectors ten years ago, before branching out on my own as a freelance corporate writer and editor (under the banner of JEL Media) and undertaking further study in media and small business marketing. Taking advantage of my increasing skill base, I expanded my consultancy to include website production, as well as communications project management and production.
I am also a published features writer, interviewer and reviewer (focusing on the arts, education, law, media and politics.)
I have an Arts/Law degree from Monash University (international relations, history and music performance) and a Grad. Dip. in Applied Media from Swinburne (journalism, electronic writing, new media production.)
My background has allowed me to develop important specialist and generalist skill sets, as well an approach that is both strategic and creative. The breadth and depth of my experience is behind my ability to research, structure and present information effectively; to communicate in a highly developed way (both verbally and in writing); and to ensure close attention to detail.
